Crafting is a feature in Soulframe that was first introduced during the Gameplay Preludes demo released in 2023. Crafting is a process where required materials can be gathered and combined in order to produce a new produce or equipment piece. This can include Weapons or Armour in the game. Players can visit the Blacksmith at the Nighthold hub who will have a Blacksmithing station once unlocked. You can task the Blacksmith with jobs to gain new weapons and equipment. The Blacksmith in Soulframe
The Blacksmith is an NPCs that players can go to provide crafting materials so that the Blacksmith can produce new Weapons and equipment. Players can encounter different NPCs with abilities that can then be sent to the Nighthold, the main hub of the game, to unlock different features and mechanics and expand the hub such as Crafting. This is how you can access Crafting and Blacksmithing abilities. It will be similar to how Warframe operates, an older, but active game by Digital Extremes. Players will need to gather resources and the required materials before a crafting job can be initiated.
Crafting Process in Soulframe
The Blacksmith will have a Crafting Rank. The Blacksmith will have a Crafting menu that will display the available Inspirations, Reforge, and Curing menu options. You will also be able to view the Crafting requirements needed for the selected job and the Curing Time. Blacksmithing jobs will need some time before the desired Equipment piece is produced. Players can return to the Blacksmith once the time has passed to pick up the new equipment piece. So far in the early stages of development, the game has made 3 weapon options available for Crafting.
- Rook: The wrought Iron Rookblade is both club and spear.
- Rivt-II: An Ode'n Splitsword cast of foreign ore from distant orbits.
- Vasp-IV: A deadly Ode'n Halberd lost to the Sinecure ranks not long ago. Though the blade is rusted slightly, it is only for the Ode'n alloys, untreated for humid Alcan air.
